Leah will make sure you are ready for an intensive during your consultation. Individuals experiencing highly dissociative states might need more resourcing before we get into an intensive. Additionally individuals who are actively suicidal or have self-harm tendencies must be out of crisis and stable before undergoing treatment.

This is entirely personal and should be discussed with your therapist. EMDR is one of the fastest and most efficient methods of processing trauma. While you will probably no longer have the distressing symptoms you came in for, continuing therapy might serve you as you integrate and move forward. Therapy isn’t just for healing from the past, but also learning how to be your best self in the present!

Yes. Leah will work with you on the issues that you have been stuck on in your regular therapy sessions. If you want, Leah can consult with your therapist before again afterwards as you integrate your intensive into your life.

Therapy FAQ
-
I’m located in West Palm Beach and can see anyone in the state of Florida virtually.
-
Yes. I offer in-person and virtual sessions.
-
Sessions are 50 minutes in length and cost $200/session. Payment is accepted in the form of credit card or HSA account. At this time, all of my sliding scale spaces are occupied. If you are interested in a sliding scale spot, I would be happy to add you to my waitlist.
-
A first session is an opportunity for me to get a feel for who you are, what some of your concerns might be, and to get an idea of what life has been like for you as of recently. It’s also an opportunity for you to get to know me and my working style so there will be plenty of time for you to ask me questions, too! It’s also important to note that a first session is not a commitment for future sessions, the first three sessions allow both you and I to determine rightness of fit. Typically somewhere in the first three sessions we’ll have a conversation about continuing on together or going in a different direction.

I am an out of network provider, which means I do not accept insurance directly. If you have a qualifying mental health diagnosis I am able to submit a monthly receipt directly to your insurance for you. If you have any out of network provider benefits they will reimburse you directly. The best way to find out if you have these benefits is to call your insurance provider directly.

I ask clients to commit to weekly therapy for a minimum of 8-12 weeks if possible. This is to create consistency and to allow for movement and change to begin to occur. The inward journey is a deep process that takes time, and requires a bond to emerge between you and your therapist. With that said, I understand life happens and you may need to cancel an appointment. No worries! My cancellation policy will be included with your intake paperwork.
-
Absolutely! If you want to explore EMDR, we will spend some sessions preparing you for the experience before we jump in.
